Omg finally!!!!!!! This is the most validating thing I have read in a long time. Positive affirmations always felt awkward and forced to be. I started to believe something was really wrong with me and I was just doomed bc I could not for the life of me repeat them. I just love this so much and I want to post it everywhere! Thanks for speaking the truth!!!!

Thanks for this - I also dislike positive affirmations from myself because I’m still working through complex trauma which degrades my own perspective of myself - not feeling worthy of a happy future, and I’ve recently realized how much fear I have when it comes to food. This is such a great article

I downloaded an affirmations app and a good 75% of the time, I have a rebuttal for the affirmation in my head. Every once in a while, they're actually helpful to me ;)

Absolutely πŸ’―!!!Positive Affirmation feels like a fat arrogant lie,and yes still fight excess weight and not anorexic by any means but obsessed when I hit β€œthat” number. Positive quotes often help me more 😊
