People respond in various ways to growing up in chaos. Sometimes they become the hurricane. Sometimes they invite the hurricane into their life and ask it to stay.
For the chaos enthusiast, peace may feel like absolute boredom. So instead,
They’re always in crisis or fixing other people’s crises.
They’re constantly feeling like a mess or busy cleaning up people’s messes.
They’re extremely emotionally volatile or surrounded by emotionally volatile people.
They’re so busy they can’t think or feel, or they’re surrounded by people who are so busy they can’t feel + bring them along for the ride.
As an adult, you may find that you’re more comfortable with chaos because it’s familiar. You know what to do with chaos. You have no idea what the hell to do with peace. So you create chaos yourself or find someone else that will.
But eventually, you get tired. You get tired of constantly cleaning up a mess and trying to fix things. And when you get tired enough, you’ll know you’re ready to find peace.
